How to add / remove links?

Refer to the illustration below for a visual.

1. Gently pull apart the links and hold the link top with your thumb on your right hand.
2. Then with your left hand slip the link on or off at a 45 degree angle.
3. The spring then will come together into a closed position locking them tightly.

How many links do I need?

13 links = approximately 5 inches in length
14 links = approximately 5 1/4 inches in length
15 links = approximately 5 3/4 inches in length
16 links = approximately 6 1/4 inches in length
17 links = approximately 6 1/2 inches in length
18 links = approximately 7 inches in length
19 links = approximately 7 1/4 inches in length
20 links = approximately 7 3/4 inches in length
21 links = approximately 8 inches in length
